This list included "The Lake House". I am so glad this was free. I think this list is mostly a waste of space, just check out imbd for good movies. Though it did include one of my favorite movies "High Fidelity" but it left out hits like "When Harry Met Sally" and I think even "Casablanca".Product details

I was skeptical when I previewed the book but came away from the preview wanting more. This book is the LIST of all lists for inspirational movies. I saw many of my favorites and now I have a place to go to remind myself of the ones I'd love to see over and over. This book is a must for movie viewers - it's a great reference to utilize for future Christmas gifts as well. This book will keep you inspired. Easy organized and gives title covers as well. Overall A+. Highly recommend.
The author has put together an amazing resource. If ever you feel down, alone, afraid, inadequate, small and helpless you'll find a film in this book that will pick you up and lift your spirits. The films are classics such as, "It's a Wonderful Life," "Rocky" and "Good Will Hunting," to name only a few. If you're looking for a guidebook on films that feature heart, soul, human connection and triumph - look no further. I'd call this one, "highly recommended."
The list is very partial if it does not include "Melody" (Mark Lester with Bee Gees' music) and another one I would include is "Motorcycle Dairies".
There are a few family friendly ones Lion King, It's a Wonderful Life, and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. That's about it. The vast majority are R rated or moderately sleezy PG13s. No Christian movies at all (they ought to have The Passion, Narnia movies, Courageous, Fireproof, FlyWheel, etc., instead of the Golden Compass and a few other agnostics). Do you really think that "Ferris Beuller's Day Off" is more inspiring than these omissions Quiz Show, Man for All Seasons, The Scarlet and the Black. Wading through these was disheartening. Is that the best we can do?
